We're settling into a new school routine. Here are the kids on the first day. Natalie had no idea how much her life was about to change. The first day she asked me where the kids were approximately 2 million times. That number has gone down slightly this last week.
Caroline is so happy to be back in school. She loves everything about it. Her only complaint is that she wishes there were more projects.
Miles has taken a bit of time to settle into his new routine but he's getting there. For the first two weeks he went to school on the condition that it was the last time. He loves a lot of things there including his teacher but he doesn't like how long they have to sit and listen. At least there's recess.
Speaking of recess...
When I was in elementary school we had days where we had to miss recess because it was raining or snowing. Snow never happens and it very rarely rains here in Arizona so recess is fairly safe. Safe unless it's hot. They have what's called 'extreme heat' days here - when the temp. is 110 or over. The kids aren't allowed to go out for recess on extreme heat days which has happened a lot this week.
I totally agree that 110 is way to hot to be sending kids out to run around on the playground. 109, however, perfectly fine. Send them down those scorching hot slides, across the scalding monkey bars, and run them five more laps around the field. Right.
Don't all kids wear sunscreen and bring two water-bottles to school everyday?
