While on vacation we spent a day exploring the Natural History and Air and Space museums... The kids really liked the dinosaurs and mammal exhibits. Caroline loved the butterfly pavilion where the butterflies landed on her. Miles could have spent the entire day in the dinosaur exhibit alone. None of the kids were paticuarly impressed with the Air and Space museum which surprised me because I thought they would love it. We were there at the end of the day though... there's a lot to take in in those buildings. We'll have to visit again.
We were able to visit with one of Brian's dear friends who recently moved to the D.C. area from Alabama. We hadn't seen him since our wedding, it was good to see him. We spent a fun evening catching up at Brian's parents house and then planned to get together later in the week. We thought we'd wander around Old Town Alexandria for a few hours and then get dinner. When we met him he suggested that we go sailing, so he took us on the Potomac River and showed us how to work the ropes and sails. We would have never done something like that without MM to suggest it. I don't have any pictures to show it but it was really fun... thanks for the fun day M.
